  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup canola oil
For the Caramel Layer
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
For the Frosting
  • 1 can chocolate fudge frosting
  • 1 container Cool Whip whipped topping
For Topping
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/4 cup good quality chocolate sauce
  • 1/4 cup good quality caramel sauce in squeeze container

Method
 

How to Make Turtle Poke Cake
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and spray a 9×13-inch glass baking dish with baking spray.
  2. Mix the yellow cake mix, eggs, water, and canola oil in a large bowl for 2 minutes until smooth.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared dish and bake for 35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  4. Mix caramel sauce and sweetened condensed milk until smooth.
  5. Poke holes in the hot cake using a wooden spoon handle and pour caramel mixture over it.
  6. Let the cake cool at room temperature for at least 1 hour.
  7. Whip the chocolate fudge frosting for 1 minute until light and fluffy.
  8. Fold in the thawed Cool Whip until fully combined.
  9. Spread frosting over the cooled cake evenly.
  10. Drizzle caramel and chocolate sauce over the top and sprinkle with chopped pecans.
  11. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving.
