- Preheat your oven to 350°F and line a 9×13 baking pan with parchment paper, lightly spritzing with nonstick cooking spray.
- In a bowl, beat together the softened unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar using an electric mixer until fluffy and well combined.
- Crack in the two large eggs and pour in the vanilla extract. Continue to mix until fully blended and creamy.
- Gradually add the baking soda, salt, and all-purpose flour to your wet mixture, mixing slowly then increasing to medium speed until a cohesive dough forms.
- Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips and Valentine M&Ms using a spatula.
- Scoop the dough into your prepared baking pan and spread evenly into the corners.
- Sprinkle additional Valentine M&Ms on top of the dough, lightly pressing them down.
- Place your pan in the preheated oven and bake for 20-35 minutes.
- Once baked, let the bars cool in the pan on a wire rack for easy cutting.
- Slice the cooled bars into squares and serve.
