  • 3 cups powdered sugar Sweetens the frosting.

Method
 

Directions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 9×13 baking dish by lining it with parchment paper or giving it a light spray with non-stick spray.
  2. Cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes. Add the sifted powdered sugar and mix until well combined.
  3. Incorporate the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract into the creamed mixture. Beat until everything blends beautifully.
  4. Sift the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl. Whisk them together until fully combined.
  5. Combine the flour mixture into the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Use your hands to press the dough together.
  6. Evenly press the dough into the prepared baking dish. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are lightly puffed.
  7. Cool the cookie bars completely in the baking dish.
