  • 1 cup butter cold and cut into cubes
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • ¾ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
For the Fun Toppings
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips
  • cup valentine sprinkles
  • 24 chocolate hearts unwrapped

Method
 

How to Make Valentine’s Day Chocolate Chip Cookies
  1. Preheat the oven to 410°F.
  2. Cream together the cold cubed butter and both brown and granulated sugars in the stand mixer.
  3. Incorporate the eggs, adding one at a time.
  4. Combine the dry ingredients in a separate bowl and whisk together.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips and Valentine sprinkles by hand.
  6. Scoop generous mounds of cookie dough onto a baking sheet.
  7. Sprinkle the tops of each cookie dough mound with additional heart sprinkles.
  8. Bake for 8-10 minutes, watching closely until the cookies are set.
  9. Cool the cookies on the baking sheet for 5 minutes.
  10. Press an unwrapped chocolate heart into the center of each cookie.
  11. Transfer the cookies to a cooling rack to cool completely.
  12. Store any leftover cookies in an airtight container.
