For the French Toast
  • 5 French bread, cut into 2 cm cubes
  • 4 Large eggs
  • 1 cup Whole milk
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 110 g Brown sugar, divided
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp Ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp Ground nutmeg
For the Cream Cheese Filling
  • 8 oz Cream cheese, cut into cubes
  • 1 cup Fresh blueberries
For the Topping
  • 1 cup Plain flour
  • 1 tsp Ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp Fine salt
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter, cold and cubed

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 175°C. While it warms up, grab your favorite baking dish (23 x 33 cm) and grease it with non-stick spray.
  2. Whisk together the eggs, whole milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, 110 g brown sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Toss the cubed French bread into the egg mixture, ensuring each piece gets thoroughly coated. Let the bread soak for about 10 minutes.
  4. Layer half of the soaked bread mixture into your prepared baking dish. Then, scatter half of the cream cheese cubes and fresh blueberries evenly on top.
  5. Repeat the process with the remaining bread mixture, followed by the remaining cream cheese and blueberries.
  6. Bake the dish in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.
Serving
  1. Serve with a sprinkle of powdered sugar or drizzle of maple syrup for enhanced flavor.
