Some people chase the perfect selfie. Ella chases the perfect crumb.
EllaBake is a cozy corner of the internet dedicated to bakes that actually work in real home ovens: cakes that rise, cookies that don’t spread into one big pancake, and weekend treats that still taste good on Monday.
This site is run by Ella Jones, a home baker who loves mixing classic American baking with modern, small-batch twists—plus a little backup from our in-house “baking nerd,” Sam.
Meet Ella Jones

I’m Ella, the baker behind EllaBake.
I didn’t start in a professional kitchen. I started with a wobbly hand mixer, a second-hand oven, and a stack of family recipe cards covered in butter stains and cryptic notes like “bake until it smells done.”
For years I worked a regular 9-to-5 while baking on the side—birthday cakes for coworkers, cookie boxes for neighbors, and experimental weekend bakes when I should have been doing laundry. I kept tweaking recipes to make them clearer, more reliable, and easier to pull off with normal ingredients from a normal grocery store.
Eventually, friends stopped asking, “Can I get the recipe?” and started asking, “Can you please write your recipes somewhere I can actually find them?”
That’s when EllaBake.com was born.
I chose the name because it’s exactly what this site is: Ella + Bake. No mystery, no gimmick—just a person, an oven, and recipes built to be baked in real homes.
Meet Sam Rivera – Baking Science & Testing

Behind the scenes, Sam Rivera keeps us honest.
Sam is our Baking Science & Testing Lead. They:
- double-check our measurements,
- test alternative ingredients where it makes sense,
- time the recipes in a regular home kitchen (no commercial mixers, no industrial ovens), and
- help translate “grandma logic” into clear, step-by-step directions.
If a step is confusing, Sam flags it. If a bake time is too tight, it gets adjusted. If a recipe doesn’t pass multiple tests, it doesn’t go on EllaBake.
Together, we aim to give you recipes that are trustworthy enough for birthday parties, bake sales, and all the “please don’t let this fail” moments.
What You’ll Find on EllaBake
On EllaBake, you’ll find:
- Everyday bakes: cookies, brownies, snack cakes, muffins, and quick breads.
- Weekend projects: layer cakes, rolls, celebration desserts.
- Small-batch and freezer-friendly options: for when you want “a treat,” not a full bakery tray.
- Clear instructions: pan sizes, oven rack position, cooling times, and “what it should look like” cues.
- Make-ahead & storage notes: so you know what can be baked today and served tomorrow.
We write for real home bakers: squeaky mixers, slightly crooked oven racks, curious kids, and distracted dogs included.
How We Develop & Test Recipes (Trust & Quality)
To keep platforms, partners, and readers happy, we follow some simple but strict rules:
- Original, experience-based recipes
All core recipes are developed, adapted, and tested by us. We don’t copy/paste from other sites, and we don’t publish anything we haven’t baked ourselves. - Multiple test rounds
Recipes are tested more than once, sometimes in different pans or ovens when possible. If results aren’t consistent, the recipe doesn’t make it live. - Real-life ingredients
We use ingredients you can find in a typical U.S. grocery store. If something is specialized, we’ll tell you and offer alternatives where we can. - Clear safety & allergy notes
We encourage you to always check labels for allergens and food safety. Nutrition info, if provided, is estimated and should be treated as a guide, not medical advice. - No “shock” or unsafe content
EllaBake is a family-friendly, brand-safe baking site. No explicit, hateful, violent, or dangerous content—ever.
Editorial, Advertising & Affiliate Standards
To stay transparent with readers and compliant with ad platforms (like Google AdSense) and affiliate partners, we follow these guidelines:
- Editorial independence
Opinions and recipe choices are our own. Advertisers and sponsors do not control which recipes we publish or what we say about a product. - Sponsored content
If we ever publish sponsored content, it will be clearly labeled (“Sponsored” or “In partnership with…”). Sponsorship never buys a positive review. - Affiliate links
Some posts may include affiliate links to tools or ingredients we genuinely like. If you click those links and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This income helps keep the site running and recipes free. - Ads and cookies
We may work with ad networks that use cookies or similar technologies to show relevant ads and measure performance. Details—and your choices—are explained in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. - Family-friendly, policy-friendly
We aim to stay aligned with major platform policies (Google, Pinterest, and other partners): no misleading content, no harassment, no hate speech, no adult content, and no promotion of illegal activities.
A Note on Nutrition & Health
We love butter, but we are not doctors, dietitians, or nutritionists.
Any nutrition information on EllaBake is automatically calculated or estimated and should be used as a rough guide only. Always consult a qualified professional if you have specific health conditions, dietary needs, or questions about ingredients.
